Six degrees of separation is the idea that all living things and everything else in the world is six or fewer steps away from each other so that a chain of “a friend of a friend” statements can be made to connect any two people in a maximum of six steps.

This is a useful exercise to make you think about causes and consequences of events.  Try connecting the events on the following Six Degrees revision sheets.  Make sure that each hexagon links with the two either side.  You could think of it as a timeline where you need to identify the main events linking the two on each end.

The Six Degrees- 1871-1914

The Six Degrees- 1908-1914

The Six Degrees- Balkans

The Six Degrees- July Crisis

The Six Degrees- LoN
